Witness to Injustice: Unraveling US and Indigenous History

February 24, 2019 - 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Join the Neighbors of Onondaga Nation (NOON) for this interactive workshop called Witness to Injustice: Unraveling US and Indigenous History adapted from the KAIROS Blanket Exercise. This is a 3-hour interactive group exercise that invites participants to experience: colonization, conquest, and attempted genocide of the Indigenous Peoples of Turtle Island (the North American Continent). Witness to Injustice is a participatory exercise designed to raise awareness of European conquest and Indigenous resistance and survival through the use of meaningful quotes and blankets representing the lands of Turtle Island. Participants engage in an experiential history lesson designed in a way that can’t be provided by reading a book.

Sliding scale workshop fee of $10-25 to be given to Neighbors of the Onondaga Nation to continue their valuable work in our community. Space is limited. Please RSVP to info@artragegallery.org to reserve your spot. Several scholarships available, please inquire.
