UNMANNED: AMERICA’S DRONE WARS

January 2, 2014 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Robert Greenwald’s feature-length not-to-be-missed, stunning  documentary.

It’s time to get better informed about U.S.-style warfare and its extrajudicial assassinations… especially since the Attack Wing at nearby Hancock air field is a major Reaper drone hub piloting these hunter/killer drones over Afghanistan.

“The film highlights the stories of 16 year-old Tariq Aziz, killed by a drone in 2011 and school teacher, Rafiq ur Rehamn, whose mother was killed and children hospitalized due to a drone strike in 2012. Unmanned includes more than seventy interviews. Prominent among these are a former U.S. drone operator; Pakistani families  of drone victims who are seeking legal redress; high-ranking politicians and some of the military’s top brass, warning against blowback from the loss of innocent life. With the  of humanizing those who have been impacted by U.S. drone policy, Unmanned intersperses these interviews with never-before-seen footage from tribal regions in Pakistan. The film claims that covert military drone strikes are often imprecise, and result in creating more enemies for the American people, who have little knowledge of how drone victims are targeted and killed.” — Wikipedia

The next day, 5 p.m. Friday, Jan 3,  16 Upstate Drone Action members will go on trial in the De Witt Town Court for protesting those assassinations at Hancock on October 25, 2012. Media and supporters welcome. That 2012 protest was one of a protracted series of such events at Hancock and across the country. At Hancock alone there have been well over 100 arrests since 2009.
