A world filled with turmoil and disruption inspired the Finger Lakes area fiber art group “The Sisterhood of the Scissors” to challenge its members to use fiber, fabric, paper, and related media to express their reaction to a wide range of issues that currently plague our world.

In lively discussions during field trips, retreats, and in monthly meetings, they felt an urgency to express their outrage and concern. They challenge not only themselves but others to actively protest the injustices and repugnant actions witnessed throughout our world. Sisterhood’s body of work expresses their reaction and gives them a voice.
