Creating a World without Genocide
A Workshop for Educators with Dr. Mary Johnson

As a continuation of the season long ArtRageous Engagement series, this workshop is open to all educators as well as anyone in the community interested in learning techniques to teach about genocide. In conjunction with the ArtRage Gallery exhibition; Normal: How the Nazis Normalized the Unspeakable. Free to attend. Registration is encouraged. Refreshments/light supper will be served.

About the presenter:

A dynamic speaker, Dr. Mary Johnson has conducted seminars and workshops related to the Holocaust and modern genocide, researched issues dealing with the Holocaust and human rights and written and co-edited study guides and publications related to all areas of Facing History. She is Senior Historian at Facing History and Ourselves and an adjunct professor for Masters in Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Stockton College, where she teaches a variety of courses on the Holocaust and recent genocides. Dr. Johnson is on the Human Rights Committee of the New York State Council for the Social Studies and Chair of the International Visitor’s committee of the National Council for the Social Studies.
