CHEAP ART MAKING WORKSHOP!

October 9, 2013 - 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Longing to make a piece of “cheap art” to donate to the
ArtRage CHEAP ART AUCTION on October 26th?

Wondering just what the heck “cheap art” is?

Join us for a CHEAP ART making workshop at ArtRage led by Anita Welych!

Bring your art and craft supplies, bring some to share or use some of ours. You can come with a project in mind or we can help you brainstorm your cheap art masterpiece. Plan on having fun and building community…most of all plan on letting the artist in you out for a stroll.

What is the Cheap Art Auction?

Back in the 1990’s Syracusians enjoyed the annual Cheap Art Auction organized as a fundraiser for Altered Space Gallery. Inspired by the WHY CHEAP ART? Manifesto* written by Bread & Puppet in 1984, it was a community event celebrating the artist in all of us by encouraging community members to make outrageous art out of any sort of materials, cheap, free and/or found! It also celebrated that art is FOR all of us by auctioning off the art…for cheap; in a fun, community celebration.
