Artrageous Engagement Series: Fabric Gift-making Workshop

November 23, 2013 - 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

In conjunction with our exhibition, Spoken Threads: Craftivist Fiber Art, fiber artist and teacher, Sharon Bottle-Souva will lead a greeting card and gift-making workshop.

Sharon Bottle-Souva of Syracuse, New York has been a fiber artist and quilt maker since 1976. She teaches quilt-making and sells and markets her work through her own small business, Sharon Bottle Souva Fabric Handworks.  Using a holiday theme, participants will make fiber-collage greeting cards from silk and cotton fabrics, paper, and threads to create a natural scene or abstract design. Participants can also create fabric-backed glass plates which they are encouraged to give as a gift. Sharon will bring examples of her collages and supply the needed materials.

$20 sliding scale workshop fee; scholarships available.
Reservations encouraged at info@artragegallery.org – Participants are encouraged (but not required) to bring a pair of sharp fabric scissors and any of their favorite fabrics.

This series of community workshops
is funded by a grant from the
Central New York Community Foundation.
