Artist Talk: DEBORAH FAYE LAWRENCE

Join us one hour before the Cutting Up Capitalism Opening Reception to meet the Artist – Deborah Faye Lawrence (AKA Dee Dee) and hear her talk about her life’s work! This event is Free to the Public!

A short bio:

Deborah F. Lawrence’s satirical collages have been exhibited in one-person shows at Lincoln Center, New York; Provisions Library Resource Center for Activism and the Arts, Washington, D.C.; Catherine Person Gallery, Seattle, and many other venues. The artist has received grants from The Creative Capital Foundation, Pollock Krasner Foundation, Puffin Foundation, and Adolph and Shirley Gottlieb Foundation, among others. She teaches “Socials Issues through the Arts” at Seattle University, and “Art and Culture in Community” for Lesley University, Cambridge, MA. Lawrence is the artist who, invited by Laura Bush, created a controversial “impeachment” ornament for the 2008 White House Christmas tree. She lives in Seattle.
