Russell Murphy: Law-Abiding Citizen
June 5, 2027 to July 17, 2027

Russell Murphy, formerly of Syracuse, has carved out a distinct place for himself in New York City’s graffiti art scene. Known for his unconventional approach and ability to capture attention, he works across a wide range of surfaces—city walls, cardboard, corrugated plastic, t-shirts, playing cards, and more. Blending acrylic and oil paints with tools commonly found on the street—such as spray cans, fire extinguishers, paint pens, and markers—his work embodies a fusion of highbrow and lowbrow aesthetics. This exhibition will feature a broad selection of his protest posters, including messages like “Follow the Money,” “Your Property is Stolen Land,” and “Corporate Profits Are Unpaid Wages!” In June 2027, he will debut new work reflecting the issues of the moment.
