NorMal, is a weaving together of interviews from those who speak of autism, cerebral palsy, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, impotence, infertility, ADD, Mental Illness, etc. The film suggests that there is more to be known about people with ‘disabilities’ than what we, the general public, might gleam at first glance. Participants “speak” for themselves, (whether or not audibly) to dispel commonly held assumptions of disability –of what it means to have a disability, and of who is disabled.
