Gaining Ground – Community Screening

Foreclosures. Unemployment. Childhood poverty. All these problems have hit American cities hard since the Great Recession. Gaining Ground, a follow-up to the award-winning documentary Holding Ground (1996), shows how one diverse Boston neighborhood working together has stemmed the tide against enormous odds.

This Community Film Screening of the “What If..” film Gaining Ground will be held at the Tucker Missionary Baptist Church, 515 Oakwood Ave, Syracuse, NY 13205.

This event is organized by ArtRage Gallery, the Urban Jobs Task Force and Tucker Missionary Baptist Church and is part of the Gifford Foundation “What If…” Film Series, presenting empowering films that show communities working together to bring about positive social change. Sponsored by the Gifford Foundation, ArtRage, the Urban Jobs Task Force and Tucker Missionary Baptist Church.

All films are free to the public and followed by a facilitated discussion. No reservation is required.

Doors open at 6pm Tucker Missionary Baptist Church for Refreshments. Film begins at 6:30pm.
