The Stories We Told Ourselves: The American War On Terror

November 8, 2025 to November 9, 2025

Open to the public Saturday, 9 to 2 pm and Sunday 9 to 5 pm.

“The Stories We Told Ourselves“, compiled by Professor Nausheen Husain, faculty fellow at the Lender Center for Social Justice at Syracuse University, explores the dominant and counter-narratives of the American-led “War On Terror.” Professor Husain and her team of SU students researched the news coverage of those targeted by law enforcement as part of the early WoT, the experiences of minority journalists reporting on WoT topics, as well as creative counter-narratives by the people most affected by the WoT. This exhibit is open to the public on Saturday Nov. 8 from 9a to 2p, and Sunday Nov. 9 from 9a to 5p.

Sponsored by Syracuse University with support from the New York Humanities Center, Coalition for Civil Freedoms, Muslim Counterpublics Lab, and Syracuse Peace Council.
