SOA/Fort Benning Orientation

October 30, 2011 - 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM

This November 18 to 20 Central New Yorkers will again head to Fort Benning in  Colombus, Georgia for a memorable weekend of community and solidarity protesting the Pentagon’s School of the Americas/SOA –now renamed Western Hemisphere Institute of Security Cooperation/WHINSEC.

Friday and Saturday are rich with workshops, music, and speakers. Sunday morning thousands enact a somber, moving liturgy commemorating the tens of thousands of victims of SOA graduates. Concerned about militarism? Want to help clean up U.S. policy toward our Latin American neighbors?

Please join us for an orientation gathering where we’ll share some SOA and SOA Watch history, show a short video, look at lodging and other logistics and answer any questions! Our orientation is free, accessible and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
