Ladd-Fredrick's Journey

FREDERICK DOUGLASS

One of the most iconic figures in US history, Frederick Douglass’ life inspires us to be strong and true to justice and to our own determination. Douglass was a brilliant writer and orator. He used his words to educate white Americans about the evils of slavery. He also spoke out about women’s rights issues. He was one of the most famous African Americans of his time. This children’s book brings him beautifully to life. London worked hard in his research of Douglass. He calls the book a passionate labor of love to illustrate the life of this most praiseworthy man.
