“La Camioneta” film screening

October 17, 2014 - 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM

Engineers Without Borders Syracuse Professionals is showing the multi-award-winning documentary film, “La Camioneta” as a fundraiser for our sanitation project in the rural community of Las Majadas, Guatemala.

Admission is free, but please donate as much as you can to help us provide bathrooms and hand-washing facilities for 300+ children who attend the local school. Donations are tax-deductible.

Before the film there will be Guatemalan snacks (and beverages), a rolling slide show of images from the project site, and a chance to learn more about the project from the EWB participants.

LA CAMIONETA follows the journey of a decommissioned American school bus on its transformative journey to Guatemala: a journey between North and South, between life and death, and through an unfolding collection of moments, people, and places that serve to quietly remind us of the interconnected worlds in which we live.

“The film wrings an almost bizarre amount of political, humanistic and spiritual substance out of this limited frame. Kendall’s eye for untold stories, as well as his instinct for catching evocatively framed images on the fly, mark him as a name to watch.” – Andrew Barker, VARIETY
