“Animating Reality”

Do you like documentaries?  Do you enjoy edgy animation? Are you open to new art genres? The CNY Arts Covenant is sponsoring an evening of art and discussion. Join us for a screening of clips from “Animating Reality”, a series of short documentaries that use animation to explore serious public issues and the role of art in society.

These documentaries play with an intriguing tension between two art forms that initially seem in opposition; the documentary and animation. Do they combine to reveal a more complex truth?  Or, does animation invite the viewer to escape from the sense of “reality” that documentaries attempt to capture?  How do we experience the role of art in our lives?

The screening will be followed by a discussion of Art and experience. We would like to hear your views on the arts, how you experience them and what your doing to support art and artists in your community. Refreshments will be served.
