BOOKS by Local Authors

“Wanderer”. 27 page Chapbook by local poet Deborah Diemont. Only $10!

“Deborah Diemont’s poems are set in Latin America, but they are not tourist poems or the earnest expropriation of experience that comes from casual travel. Diemont has lived what she writes about, and she brings to it, not a sentimental eye, but the educated eye of a weathered love.” –Andrew Hudgins

The Comstock Review – 25th Anniversary Commemorative Volume – $20

The Comstock Writers’ Group incorporated in 1986. From its inception as a workshop for local poets begun in the living room of Jenny MacPherson, it is now one of the most respected and enjoyed journals in the United States.

“Poems for Lorca” by local author Walt Shepperd. Only $10!

Walt Shepperd is a cultural icon and community treasure. A man who has spent his life in many roles, he is always working to describe, show, and improve the life of things he sees around him. He has done this as a journalist, author, poet, activist, teacher, editor, essayist, artist, and mentor. He founded the Media Unit, and Rough Times live, the award-winning teen-produced weekly television program, and has himself won many awards for his activities and writing. The poems in Poems for Lorca continue this lifelong effort to truly see and record the life around him. Lorca is his daughter, and the poems constitute an invaluable generational gift from father to daughter, and from friend, colleague, and member of the community to all of us.
