“The world must stand together to prevent the spread of these weapons.”
–President Barrack Obama; Prague, 2009

IN MY LIFETIME thoughtfully and thoroughly examines the 68-year history of nuclear weapons — the most destructive force ever invented. The film is a powerful documentary that covers the history of nuclear weapons from the 1945 test explosion of the first atomic bomb in New Mexico to the Cold War to policies to reduce or eliminate these weapons altogether.

Director/Producer, and Syracuse native, Robert Frye spent over five years to create a compelling and thought provoking documentary showing the effects and consequences of nuclear weapons. Filmed in Japan, Europe and the U.S., and using incredible archival footage, IN MY LIFETIME includes the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Cuban missile crisis, and the 1986 Reykjavik Summit between President Ronald Reagan and Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev, along with commentary from U.N. officials, former heads of state and Manhattan Project scientists and focuses on the continuing struggle of citizens, scientists and political leaders working to reduce or eliminate the atomic threat, while others search for ways to build nuclear weapons. IN MY LIFETIME also details the obstacles — political and human — impeding a solution to this complex global issue.

IN MY LIFETIME is intriguing, insightful, heartbreaking and hopeful.
