Horace Campbell at ArtRage

September 17, 2019 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Professor Horace G. Campbell will be speaking at ArtRage on “The Quagmire of U.S. Militarism in Africa.”

After its years-long failed campaign to help prop up South African apartheid, U.S. white supremacists have intensified their efforts to colonize Africa. To do so, despite the African people’s resistance, the U.S. governments now has established the Africa command in the context of the so-called “War on Terror. “

AFRICOM , its Africa Command, is spending billions on information and psychological warfare, and deploying social scientists, private military contractors, as well as ‘humanitarian’ workers to destabilize and destroy Africa. Prof. Campbell argues that the U.S peace movement must not standby as our tax money is being spent to restore white supremacy on this resource-rich continent.

Horace G. Campbell holds a joint Professorship in the Departments of African American Studies and Political Science at Syracuse Uuniversity. In 2016- 2018 he was Distinguished Kwame Nkrumah Chair at the Institute of Africa Studies at the University of Ghana. Professor Campbell’s most recent book is “Global NATO and the Catastrophic Failure in Libya .” He has authored over 100 journal articles and a dozen monographs. Dr. Campbell is completing a book on US Militarism and African Independence.
